The Journey Begins

We set our alarmsĀ and synchronised our watches for the 3:30am to kick off this next adventure. Thanks dad for the early morning taxi service to the airport :)

I was so excited and very nervous to embrace the unknown and get on my first flight to actually turn this dream into reality. (Even though I sit here writing this post in HCMC it still does not seem quite real yet) Once I found my seat I settled in and watched a very cleaver doco about the artist Banksy visiting new work and then watched a very fitting movie and Hector and the search happiness, I think it was called.

After a quick turn around in Sydney, turns out everything took ages so I did not have that long to wait in the end. I boarded my second flight to my new home HCMC. The plane was super empty which meant I got two seats just for me.

I was stoked at the thought of stretching out for a power nap or two, however I am still working on the art of sleeping on planes. So instead a watched some movies read my book, people watched and before I knew it we had to prepare for landing.

Getting off the planed I was delightfully engulfed in 33 degree heat and made my way to the visa place they were very efficient and I did not wait long. I then had to go through immigration where I met a man from Sydney here on business and we thought we had strategically found the shortest line. However I am sure we ended up waiting the longest haha.

I was pleased to see both my bags going around on the luggage belt so I loaded them up on the trolley and braced myself for the heat and chaos of the big city.
